Facebook Ads are Effective with a Basic System in Place
Facebook ads are highly effective and I’m so passionate about them! They can drastically reduce the time between starting your business and being profitable. We’re talking months or even years cut off your profitability timeline.
I used to think I just needed to build my product, and people would automatically find it. Kind of like when Kevin Costner’s character built the baseball diamond in his cornfield in the movie Field of Dreams. Yes, I actually believed that all the hours working my business without making a profit would pay off, and I’d make a bunch of money and help lots of people.
In reality, to bring in the clients and customers online, you have to be strategic with your marketing system. You need a proven system of that tests your offers and your marketing strategies quickly.
You might be thinking that this just isn’t the case because of all the “overnight success” stories you hear about. It’s easy to believe that they are the exception – that they have some magic wand that brings their dreams to reality. In truth, their magic wand is actually profitable Facebook Ads that target their ideal client consistently.
I want you to have that same “overnight success” story. Because once you’ve got your marketing system right, you’ll be pulling in a six-figure launch, or tripling your revenue from last year.

Here’s the basic system we use to help our clients:
1 – We start with putting nine to twelve ads on Facebook. Each one differs from the other. The variations of each ad guide us to what the target customer is looking for. Even a tweaked headline can make a huge difference in sales.
For example, for one client we used two ads with the exact same image, copy, and target market. The difference between the two was only in the headline. One ad got leads at $9; the other only got leads at $0.50. One small change to a headline made all the difference!
2 – We continue to test all the elements of the ad. We realize that not every single ad will give the same results. Four or five might be the winners. So, as we’re testing, we shut down the ones not producing well and hone in on the ones that are to make them even better.
Really, that’s it. It isn’t a complicated system. But it is a system of testing, tweaking, and narrowing your focus.
The Real Goal – Client Targeting
The point of all the testing is to continually funnel down your ad until it speaks to the particular client or customer you want. When you do this, your leads become cheaper. This is where Facebook Ads gets magical.
For example, let’s assume you’ve done some research and it indicates your ideal clients are single women between the ages of 35 and 45. Say you first target these women who are not only in that age range, but who have recently changed their relationship status, say within the last six month.
Through Facebook magic and strategic planning, it’s possible to get your ad right in front of those people.
Take the 4-5 ads that seemed to do the best, and start testing those against different age ranges. Try testing in the 35 to 40-year-old market and the 41 to 45-year-old market. What this will tell you is if your original research was correct.
As you funnel down to exactly who your client is, not only will your ads will be much cheaper, but you’ll also understand your customer better and can change your sales copy to serve that particular client – the ones who are most likely to buy your services and products.
Like I said before, this is the Facebook targeting magic that LinkedIn and Twitter have not quite mastered. And one of the many reasons while I LOVE Facebook Ads.
